Kaeleigh the Viking

Ever had that one passion, which pulls you out of everyday life into an epic fantasy? That moment where you can do anything… be anyone. That’s who I am when I write, play video games, read and dress up as a Viking.

Over the past few months, I decided to make some changes in life. I wasn’t happy and needed things to change.

I got a new job, have now officially started my own writing business and decided to live my life, rather then just exist. I’ve picked up many new hobbies and tried all sorts of new experiences.

Some of the best times have been attending the “Barossa Medieval Fair” and the “SA Viking Festival”.

Now while I already had a love for all things medieval and Norse. It opened my eyes to the possibilities of a whole range of new things I’d love to try. Including blacksmithing, swordfighting, archery, axe throwing (did that one at the fair, was so much fun, even though I sucked at it… I’d definitely like to buy my own and practice) and so many more.

Making my own costumes and dressing up has been a lot of fun.

I’ve made some epic friendships, with some incredible people that I never would have met if I hadn’t stepped outside my comfort zone. I’m so grateful I did.

Who knew there were so many people out there with the same passions and interests as me, who liked to get dressed up, have fun and be a little bit silly.

I have also joined a medieval committee based locally, with hopes of bringing such events closer to home.

I’m so happy this has become a part of my life, and am looking forward to attending more events in the future.

Who knows, maybe I’ll see you there.
